Reviva is the Rocky Balboa of skincare

The classic 1976 movie written by and starring Sylvester Stallone, Rocky, is a time-honored story of a little-known underdog that surprises the more famous antagonist, the champ Apollo Creed. In the movie, our hero, impresses and gains esteem simply by going the distance and achieving a “victory” via dogged perseverance. At the end of Rocky’s 15 round title fight both he and Apollo are left bloodied and bruised – embracing each other with new mutual respect.

Reviva embraces our underdog status

After fifty years in this industry Reviva still stands tall as a family business that often punches above its weight class. We’ve witnessed a flurry of mergers and acquisitions as they battered the industry from all sides – manufacturing, distribution, and retail. Reviva has dodged and weaved as the natural skin care business has changed. We’ve watched as it’s grown from a featherweight niche into a heavyweight contender in all areas of retail.

Fifty years ago, it was unique to see skincare sold in health food stores and drug stores beyond some classics, like Ponds Cold Cream. However, today from Kohls to Target and retailers of every size you’ll find natural skin care positioned prominently. Why? Because savvy, well informed consumers are demanding better, safer ingredients in their cosmetics and skincare.

Reviva continues to be that upstart underdog that won’t stay down. Sure, we’ve taken a few blows recently – the loss of Stephen Strassler in 2016 followed a few years later by the loss of his wife and co-founder Judith Strassler in 2020. But we keep fighting back. During the pandemic we pivoted to online sales and kicked our webinars into high gear. Plus, we introduced our Online Product Demos and Monthly Trivia Nights. And recently we debuted our free Virtual Skincare Consultations that allows you to zoom with skincare professionals to discuss your needs, concerns, and to learn how to use our products better.

Jab, Jab, Uppercut, Body Blow!

While many of our former opponents are now part of large mega-corporations Reviva continues to spar with the big boys and holds our own. During all the “unprecedented fisticuffs” of the past few years we continue to go the distance. We’ve launched several new, innovative skincare products: Fruit Enzyme Mask, Calming Renewal Serum, Calming Rejuvenation Crème, Multi-Factor Brightening Crème, and Bakuchiol Plus Serum. And we’ve continued to evolve our existing products, refining the ingredients to remove the controversial preservative phenoxyethanol.

Much like the Rocky movie’s protagonist we keep moving forward, training, so we’ll be ready when we get our title bout. This is our passion our reason to keep fighting. Reviva makes great skin care that positively affects and improves people’s lives. We’ve done this for fifty years and we’re not hanging up our glove anytime soon. Consumers simply need to discover us. Our fight, to them know who we are – to tell everyone. Because we believe, when a consumer’s purchase decision goes to the cards, we’re confident we should come out on top in any decision.
