It seems everywhere you turn today regarding skin care, the hottest or “newest” ingredient being promoted is hyaluronic acid. We’re happy the industry has caught on to this powerful skin care ingredient – we’ve been promoting it and using it in our products for decades.
“In 1986, Reviva Labs was the first skin care company to introduce skin care products containing Hyaluronic Acid into health food stores.”
Reviva pioneered the use of hyaluronic acid in health food store-sold skin care way back in the 1980’s. And we’ve been big fans of this ingredient since then. You’ll find it in nearly all of our Hydrating Collection products, and it’s often in many of our other products too. We’ve written about the benefits of hyaluronic acid many times, including our previous blog post “How hyaluronic acid boosts skin moisture” from back in 2014. And we welcome the latecomers to this potent and powerful skin care ingredient (e.g., Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost product line, Deciem’s The Ordinary has many HA options, CeraVe’s Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum, Glossier’s Super Bounce, etc.) – after all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? Though, we’re not always fans of what some other “makers” add into their formulas. When it comes to hyaluronic acid (as the key ingredient) we prefer to keep things as simple and clean as possible with our formulations. But to each their own I guess.
