How Do I Use Reviva’s Sea Salt Cleansing Gel?

Sea Salt Cleansing Gel

This is the first post in our “How Do I Use…” Series – and was the inspiration for the series overall.

While I’d tried/used our Sea Salt Cleansing Gel during its development and testing phase – and I liked it a lot – there was a fair amount of time between the development phase and the initial manufacture of the product (as is almost always the case; these things take time). So, once I had an “official” bottle of the Sea Salt Cleansing Gel in my very own shower, I was excited to try it once again.

A Perfect Post-Workout Cleanser

It so happened that my brand-new bottle of Sea Salt Cleansing Gel was waiting for me after a Sunday-morning workout. I came home from the gym and couldn’t wait to get showered and start my day.

I’m not one to wax poetic about anything, let alone skin care. But when I tell you that my skin felt more refreshed than I can remember it ever feeling, it’s not an exaggeration. You know that feeling after you’ve been in the ocean all day? You take a shower and just feel so refreshed. That’s how I felt using this cleanser. My skin felt so soft and clean and fresh. It felt like a day at the beach! After being all hot & sweaty and red-faced from exercising, this cleanser took all that away.

Where When and How Should You Use Sea Salt Cleansing Gel?

Well, my first recommendation would be to have our Sea Salt Cleansing Gel in your gym bag if you’re washing up or showering there. My second recommendation would be to have some at your sink or in your shower – anywhere you wash your face. While this cleanser was initially developed for “problem” skin (and it’s still great for skin that’s prone to breakouts), I’ve found that it’s wonderful for just about any skin type. It doesn’t strip the skin, and it doesn’t feel drying. It simply makes your skin look and feel soft and refreshed. I’ve used it both morning and night, and it’s always felt great.

Our Sea Salt Cleansing Gel should be applied just like any other cleanser. Wet fingertips and apply a pea-sized amount of the cleanser to your fingertips. Apply to your face in gentle, upward circular motions. You may rinse with clean lukewarm water, or you can use a wet washcloth or cotton balls/rounds to remove the cleanser. Just make sure you rinse completely; cleansers in general aren’t meant to remain on the skin.

What Should I Use after the Sea Salt Cleansing Gel?

What you use after cleansing depends on many factors: skin type, skin concerns, time of day, etc. But I’ve found that – day or night – you can’t go wrong with a serum (our Collagen Serum is a great one that’s appropriate for a variety of skin types), and then a nice moisturizer; for day, I prefer our Antioxidant Skin Smoothing Day Crème, followed by Reviva’s Sun Protective Moisturizer. At night, I go with our Peptide Facial Skin Prep, followed by Advanced Retinol Serum and Alpha Lipoic Acid Vitamin C Ester DMAE Crème.

Everyone Needs a Good Cleanser

Cleansing is probably the most important step in any skin care routine. After all, that’s how you get rid of dirt & grime, and prepare your skin for any products/treatments you use afterward. And Reviva’s Sea Salt Cleansing Gel is a great cleanser – suitable for both men and women (even my pre-teen uses it) that won’t break the bank.
