Hemp Seeds

« Back to Glossary Index

Hemp seeds are the seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant, also known as marijuana. They have a nutty flavor and a crunchy texture, and are packed with essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and other beneficial compounds. Hemp seeds also provide a complete source of protein that contains all of the essential amino acids. These seeds are also high in fiber and can be used for a variety of purposes, including baking, smoothies, and salads.

The oil derived from hemp seeds has been identified to be advantageous for the skin. It is packed with vital fatty acids, providing a natural moisturizing effect to the skin and maintaining its hydration and suppleness. The omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that are part of hemp seeds work together in keeping skin moisturized. It also serves as a great source of antioxidants, which are effective in safeguarding skin from external damage.
