The Carthamus tinctorius botanical, a relative of the Sunflower, is the source of Safflower Carrier Oil, which is extracted by cold pressing the seeds. This oil can be used both cosmetically and topically, and is a great choice for moisturizing dry or acne-prone skin while calming down any redness, rashes, and inflammation. It comes from the seeds of the yellow-flowered safflower plant and is packed with nourishing and hydrating fatty acids. It contains a high level of linoleic acid (70%) and only a small percentage of oleic acid (11%), which can make it great for people with acne-prone skin. It also contains a good amount of antioxidant vitamin E (44mg/100g alpha-tocopherol).
