This plant is not very well-known, probably because its name does not sound as cool as kukui or baobab and certainly not as murumuru. But, when it comes to skin care, borage seed oil is one of the top oils you can use. This is especially true if your skin is dry, sensitive and prone to irritation and itching or eczema. What makes it so special is the richness of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) it contains. GLA is a very necessary essential fatty acid which can heal severely dry and irritated skin. Apart from GLA, borage also includes linoleic (36%), oleic (18%) and palmitic acid (10%). So if you have dry and sensitive skin, borage seed oil is the perfect choice.
