Animal Testing is banned in New Jersey

NJ ends animal testing for cosmetics

Reviva was founded in and remains located in New Jersey. We like our state – but today we’re very proud of New Jersey too. NJ Governor Phil Murphy signed a new law, going into effect March 1, 2022, that extends the existing ban on animal testing regarding cosmetics. Cosmetics manufactured in New Jersey were already prohibited to be tested on animals, but this new law expands the ban to cosmetics even if they’re tested out-of-state – closing a loophole that left our furry friends vulnerable.

The law (S1726) banning animal testing expands on a current one — New Jersey has already outlawed animal testing for products in the state when a validated and alternative method exists.

Even with the remaining exceptions in the law, this is a great day for animals in New Jersey, and it will only get better next year. Reviva Labs has always been cruelty-free and we’ve always supported efforts to eliminate animal testing. So, this new law makes everyone here exceedingly happy to be living and working in New Jersey.
